Bill is the former Tax Director of the Office of Tax Simplification and Editor in Chief of Tax Adviser magazine. He is a past president of the CIOT and was formerly head of tax policy at Deloitte. He was a member of the GAAR Advisory Panel from 2018 to 2024. Bill won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards in 2024 and writes in a personal capacity.
